The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) is a trade association that was established in 2008 in order to represent the interests of Open Access (OA) publishers globally in all scientific, technical and scholarly disciplines. This mission is carried out through exchanging information, setting standards, advancing models, advocacy, education, and the promotion of innovation. Activities are overseen by the Board of Directors who are each elected by OASPA’s Members for a 3 year term.
To ensure that we continue to represent the very best in open access publishing, OASPA has a rigorous application review process for organisations wishing to join. Applications are judged against a set of strict membership criteria by a Committee comprising several Board Members.
Every year OASPA holds a conference which brings together policy makers, funders, library information specialists and key figures in the open access publishing community. This event provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and sharing of information, and for highlighting best practices and innovation within the industry. We also hold a series of webinars and twitter chats on key topics in OA publishing which are made available to the wider community.
News and updates from OASPA, together with information on developments in the scholarly publishing industry, are regularly posted on OASPA’s blog.
